There are three types of anchor content. When I say anchor content, this is content that is the foundation or anchor to your content strategy. Most often, it is the entry point where people find you initially. It is generally optimized to be found via search engines and it’s where you build the know, like, and trust factor with your tribe.
Regularly putting out new SEO rich content that attracts your ideal clients and having it center around a central topic each month or each quarter or each however much time, is super valuable to your business. Get the visibility and connect your content easily by making it all relate to the central topic.
So there are three types of base content! But first I would like to mention that there are three types of learning styles which translate into ways people prefer to consume content as well as how you, in particular, like to create content. Let’s get to it!
Written content that lives on your own blog is a super fantastic way to leverage your SEO and get people on your site! While it is not absolutely necessary for online business, it certainly helps. Write juicy, super valuable blog posts and you’ll have your readers coming back for more and signing up to your email list. And this will establish you as an authority in your niche.
Encourage them to click around to read more posts on every single post. This is where having your content strategy revolve around a central topic is especially helpful.
If you enjoy writing and connecting with people through writing, then blogging is a terrific way to do so. It’s especially great to get people to your website and to establish authority (you know, be legit!). High quality blog posts range from 500 words up to 1500 words, but the main goal of every single post should be to provide value and a solution to your audience. If you bring value to the table each post, then they are likely to become a fan and subscriber.
Podcasts are a terrific way to get mega visibility! Whether you host your own or simply enjoy being guests on others, it is so neat to tell your story, share your knowledge, and reach new audiences. Podcasts reach the auditory peeps. Sometimes people prefer to listen to podcasts as they complete everyday tasks or drive in the car.
Podcasts bust through the know, like, and trust factor rather quickly as you talk about things that relate to your field of expertise, but also you tend to relax and naturally share your personality. You can pitch other podcasts to become a guest on easily to get more visibility to your own podcast and also to your opt-in and offers. This is where having a strategic content plan benefits you; you know which podcasts to reach out to and you know what topics you want to talk about.
Videos hit all three learning styles. People hear you, see you, and learn from you or whatever you are talking about (hello screenshare!) Videos are a terrific way build the know, like, and trust really quickly and You Tube allows to be found very easily. Optimize your titles and descriptions with the right keywords and you show up in Google. You Tube is not the only place for video content though, you could simply get started on Facebook lives. Some people even repurpose their content from lives and put it on You Tube.
Planning this content is only the beginning. There are emails and social media content as well. A good rule of thumb is to choose a topic that you will talk about for one month at a time. Could be longer, could be shorter. It depends on what you are promoting and what your goals are.
Bonus tip: every piece of content should highlight your opt-in and your opt-in should be directly related to your offers or programs.
